FAQ

General Questions Q1: What is ParentDuo?

ParentDuo is a court-aware co-parenting hub that brings together secure messaging, a Parenting Plan builder, shared schedules, supervised-visit logs, video-call records, and vCourt-ready exports so families can stay organized and child-focused.

Q2: Is ParentDuo a law firm or legal service?

No. ParentDuo does not provide legal advice or representation. It is a technology platform that helps you organize communication, plans, and records. For legal advice about your case, you should speak with a licensed attorney in your area.

Q3: Who can use ParentDuo?

Parents and caregivers, supervisors and agencies, relatives involved in supervised visits, and professionals such as attorneys, mediators, and advocates who need clear, organized records.

Accounts & Access Q4: How do I get an account?

ParentDuo is in active development. You can request early access using our Get Started / Request Access page. When your account is approved, you’ll receive sign-in instructions by email.

Q5: Can both parents see the same information?

Yes. The goal is to keep a shared, accurate record. Parents can see their shared Parenting Plan, schedule, and agreed-upon threads. Certain areas, such as private notes with an attorney, can be kept separate.

Q6: How do supervisors or professionals log in?

Supervisors, agencies, and professionals are invited to ParentDuo by a parent or authorized contact. They receive role-based access (for example, read-only access to visit logs or timelines) rather than full control over the account.

Messaging, Plans & Visits Q7: How is messaging different from regular texting?

ParentDuo uses structured, traceable threads with timestamps, read receipts, and invite-only access. This helps reduce “he said / she said” arguments and makes it easier to create clear, court-friendly summaries if needed.

Q8: What is the Parenting Plan Builder?

It’s a tool for turning court orders and agreements into a shared plan and calendar. You can define regular schedules, holidays, exchanges, and make-up time, and track proposed changes over time.

Q9: How do supervised visit logs work?

Supervisors can log visit details (who attended, arrival/departure times, observations, and issues) in a structured way. Logs are time-stamped and can be exported as part of a larger timeline for attorneys or courts when appropriate.

KC-Bot, Video Calling & vCourt Q10: What is KC-Bot?

KC-Bot is a built-in helper that explains features, reminds you about pending actions, and gives plain-language guidance when issues arise, such as schedule conflicts or unusual login activity.

Q11: Does ParentDuo support video calls?

ParentDuo is being built with a video-calling portal designed for supervised or documented video time. Call logs and notes will help families and professionals reference important details while staying court-aware.

Q12: What is vCourt?

vCourt is ParentDuo’s way of organizing your information—messages, visits, calls, and events—into timelines and exports that are easier for attorneys, mediators, and judges to review.

Security & Privacy Q13: How does ParentDuo protect my data?

ParentDuo is designed with secure logins, role-based access, and audit-friendly logs. It tracks login sessions and can flag unusual devices or locations, encouraging users to change passwords or review recent activity.

Q14: Can ParentDuo stop harassment or misuse?

ParentDuo cannot control a person’s behavior, but it can help create clearer records of what is sent, when, and by whom. If you feel unsafe or harassed, you should speak with your attorney, advocate, or local authorities.

Getting Help Q15: How do I contact support?

You can reach us through the Contact ParentDuo page. Tell us whether you’re a parent, supervisor, or professional, and briefly describe your question or concern.
